Enabling Braille Access - From reception to year 3

The course aims to offer advice and suggestions to professionals on ways to enable access to the foundation stage via Braille and tactile methods. The course will be delivered through a practical, workshop approach and aims to cover the following main areas. • Towards reading readiness for Braille - pre-Braille skills and development of literacy skills during the foundation stage. • Delivering the numeracy curriculum through tactile methods of access. • Cross curricular planning to enable access via Braille and tactile methods of access. Delegates are encouraged to bring with them, current curriculum activities and planning to enable advice and support to be offered on tactile methods of enabling access. .
