Living well with Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Living Well with Autism is a new seminar taking place on 22 November in Birmingham, drawing together the UK’s foremost experts and policy makers on autism: Hugh Morgan OBE Chief Executive, Autism Cymru, and Expert Advisor for ASD to the Welsh Government, Johanna Manikiza ASD National Strategic Coordinator, Social Services Improvement Agency, Dr Robert Moffat National Director, NAS Scotland, Carol Povey Director of the Centre for Autism, National Autistic Society. We are delighted to announce a significantly reduced delegate rate of only £99 + VAT. About the seminar: It has been three years since the ASD Strategic Action Plan for Wales was launched, leading the world in delivering the first Government autism strategy. With over £10 million of new investment made into autism strategy and research in Wales since 2008, and a further £2 million ring-fenced for ASD initiatives through to 2012, Wales continues to pioneer work in this important area. Across the UK, professionals, carers and people with ASD can learn from the Welsh experience. This seminar captures and shares the essence of what has been achieved. Experts from Scotland and England will also describe the ASD landscape in those countries and where opportunities and challenges lie. The aims of the seminar include: •To create a forum for debate and discussion around current issues •To showcase best practice •To bring service providers and commissioners, community members, and policy makers together in one conversation •To foster productive working relationships and communities of practice across and within groups •To provide delegates with tools, tips, new perspectives and connections to take back to their organisations We would be grateful if you would either circulate this information to your members, put the link on your website or promote the event in events listings on your website, or in your newsletter, or regular communications.
