Reducing restrictive practice; an evidence based approach

This intimate one day event will be of interest and relevant to practitioners working within the field who have an interest in identifying and reducing restrictive practices. In the summer of 2011 Sharon Paley, Development Manager Positive Behaviour Support travelled to Australia to spend time with colleagues in Melbourne and Brisbane. The trip was funded as part of the Florence Nightingale Scholarship programme; this is aimed at developing leadership skills for nurses and supporting the dissemination of good practice. The event will focus on restrictive practices, reduction strategies and implications for practice. There will be opportunity for discussion and debate and the day will conclude with a workshop activity. This is a practice rather than research focused event.
