Understanding the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its implications

This day gives a more ‘in-depth’ perspective of how the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Code of Practice impacts upon the role of the worker. It will give you the opportunity to reflect on your role in assessing someone’s capacity to make decisions and in implementing the Mental Capacity Act. It aims to ensure that staff feel confident and competent in supporting people with learning disabilities throughout the decision- making process or acting in the ‘best interests’ of someone who lacks capacity.
